Gone in a Flash

I'm fully aware that my generation holds a supreme dislike for learning- especially when they don't see the benefit of it, but today was ridiculous.
I'm taking a computer design class, most of it is just alignment and font- stuff like that. We've also been assigned to create a website (which won't actually be on the web), but before we start Dreamweaver (which is what we'll be using,) we do a quick runthrough of basic flash. It was at this point when my professor confessed to the class that flash is not required for the website, and she will not be counting absent those who miss today and the next class (which is still over flash) if anybody wanted to just leave, since they weren't interested in flash.
My class is a pretty decent size, mid 20's I'd say. The ones who stayed? Three. Myself and two other students.
That's just silly.
On the plus side, I got my name to spin around and fire to shoot up from the bottom of the screen. Looks like crap, but it was fun.
For something that doesn't look half- bad, I direct your attention to the picture above. Yes. I colored that. Yes. It took a long time. Oddly enough, the background was the easiest- I've broken down and started using gradients occasionally. See if you can figure out where I used them.

guess

'Tis the secret dread of poets far and near
This thing which causes interminable fear
It clothes the worst denizens of society around

When autumn comes, it's all over the ground

Many a glorious sunset has been ruined by,
That horrible thing marring the sky,

In the morning it brings horror and woe
It's found everywhere- how the poets hate it so!

It surrounds us in thought and in spite
Even in the harvest moon's light

How to describe it, oh what can we do?

Even to type it and the poem is through!

For nothing rhymes with orange, oh how can it be?

Such a thought brings tears to me.

I just HAD to write this. I just finished watching a Danny Phantom episode where the villain, The "Ghost Writer" had Danny trapped in a poem- and of course, the word orange was brought up. It was hilarious. Being a poet myself, I can't say that I've ever had trouble with orange. As long as you don't stick it on the end of a line, you're usually fine.

I do believe in Faries!

I would say its official, but it's always been this way ever since I saw Hook as a child- I want to go to Neverland with Peter Pan!!!!
It's a dream that I've never been able to give up- and perhaps the cause of my fixation on sleeping by a window. Neverland needs more girls- we aren't all like Wendy, who didn't know how good she had it. Even being... grown up... (but immature in the mind!) I would like to go- be a pirate or an Indian, or both.
I used to dream about it, flying in Neverland and outwitting Hook... Adventures.
Anyway. Fruit Bat and I just watched Peter Pan (live-action) and I just bought Peter and the Starcatchers so I'm on a bit of a Peter- kick.

There is no Fourth Wall

Fruit Bat and I watched a movie tonight from 2002. The Crocodile Hunter movie. (May Steve Irwin rest in peace.)
I say this purely from amusement.
There is an element in films, known as the fourth wall. It is the invisible barrier that keeps the actors separate from the viewer- the fourth wall is said to be "broken" when an actor interacts directly with the audience i/e- smiles directly into the camera, winks at the camera, speaks to the camera, etc.
If you want to see some spectacular breakings of the fourth wall, I recommend Spaceballs- where the actors actually kill a camera technician, or Blazing Saddles, where they break off the set.
However, in this particular movie- there IS NO FOURTH WALL. It has been demolished, never to return.
Fan's of Steve Irwin's show will know that that's just the way he ran it- speaking directly to the viewer about whatever was going on. That is neither good, bad, or indifferent- but it sure made movie night more funny.

TNR and Honors

I realized today that I should probably update on here. Why? Well, because I haven't in a while. Not that it really matters, I mean no one reads this blog. I feel like you and I are just talking to ourselves Vulpecula. Am I right? I think so.

*pouts*

Ah well, there isn't anything wrong with rambling to ourselves!!! YAYS!!!

Anyways, I'm applying for the Honors Program! I'm very excited about it. I'm a little annoyed though. While I was filling out the info online I realized that I forgot to ask the lady in the Registrars Office what my SAT scores were. Now I have to make another trip down there tomorrow. It must be done.

You all remember the feral cats on campus, yes? I know Vul and I have mentioned them in passing. Well, I'm attempting to start a TNR Program on campus for the cats. For those of you unfamiliar with TNR it stands for, "Trap-Neuter-Return." Basically you trap feral cats, take them to a Humane Society that offers TNR, and they spay/neuter the cats, give them their shots, and de-worm them all for free! Then you take the cat back to where you caught her and let her go. Afterwards you continue to take care of them and monitor their health.

What I want to do is start a program so that the cats on campus will get food, but not be able to reproduce and cause more feral cats. The only problem; the one and ONLY humane society in here no longer offers TNR. Therefore, I'm having to play email-tag with different organizations to find out how I can reinstate the TNR Program here. I am not having much luck. I really hope that I'll be able to do this. It would help out these cats a lot! I have three people who are willing to help. I'll keep everyone updated on this. When I say everyone I mean Vul and myself....LOL! XD
Those pics are of Ariel sticking her head in my truck to steal the treat bag from me. The other one is of the three kittens that Vulpecula and I have been taking care of. The dark orange one is Saul, the cream-orange is Solstice, and the dark grey one is Midnight. Such sweet babes!!

And, of course, my sweet Toby!!! *hugs puppy*
