Kitten Update

Teh Kitteh's

Just posting some pictures of the cats. Sorry no pictures of Midnight- on this day he wasn't coming close enough to the fence for any good shots. Fruit Bat got some though, and she'll be posting them later.

It was a good break. It was even a good Easter. What it was not, was a good drive back to the college. It was pure coincidence that said drive back occurred on Easter. I do not blame Easter for my bad experience. The long and short of it is, about halfway back to town, I noticed my engine having difficulty accelerating, and making a HORRIBLE clunking grinding noise. After my car STALLED OUT (which it has NEVER done before) at a stop light, I pulled over. A giant thank you to my sister EvilGlare, for having had a stick shift, and having stalled out her car at stop lights, so I knew how to get it running again. I still don't know what's wrong with the darn thing. I had to get Fruit Bat to come pick me up and leave my car in that town.
Fortunately my parents are getting it towed so we can see what's wrong with it.

Also, since it was Easter I got a wonderful chocolate rabbit- which did not survive the car ride back to the dorm. Heck, it died quicker than my car! I now posess a chocolate puddle, painstakingly scraped from the cardboard box and being kept in a refridgerator.

And as if this post wasn't random enough (see lack of title above)-I've just finished reading a book, and it was so... something that I'm going to go ahead and mention it. I found it at the library, where there are a great many books, as I was browsing, it caught my eye. The book is black- which is not uncommon nowadays, black with silver letters proclaiming that it is "The Black Book of Secrets," and on the cover is the image of a boy standing in front of a man (the man's head is not visible) with his finger raised to his lips as if to silence th reader. On his shoulder is a red-eyed tree frog that is magnificently green against the black- just as green are the boy's eyes. As if the title weren't intriguing enough, the edges of the pages are black. Just as some Bibles have gold or red or silver gilt on the edges of their pages. It boggles the mind to look at it. The summary almost doesn't matter- I had to check it out, if only to go on looking at it. The story is quite good too- the secrets that are told are usually not of a pleasent nature, but the characters are real, and even in their secrets you can see that they are good people. My only regret is that at the end of the book- there are still secrets left untold.

Saul and Solstice

Here are some pictures of two of the cats Vulpecula and I take care of at our college. They're sweethearts! We can now pet and sorta hold them.

Cream Orange=Solstice

Fruit Bat Tis' Back!!!

Yeah, yeah I know I haven't written on here in a while. I haven't had any inspiration to do so. Why? Cuz' no one really reads this. I feel like it's a pointless blog where I go to repeat what I've already told Vul and/or to talk to myself. Anywho, I suppose I'll just post some pictures of the Spring Bash at The Grove. Enjoy Vulpecula, and me, myself, and I.

Note: In these pictures, Vulpecula, Bella, and me.

In case you can't tell by the pictures; we had fun! I was hit in the head TWICE while playing the jousting game by both Bella and Vulpecula. Bella hit me first and knocked my entire helmet off. She claims that she was trying to use the jousting thing to bounce off my chest to keep from falling. Instead she hit me in the head. LOLZ!!! It was epic!
Bella and I walked away with whiplash and the next day bruised neck muscles. Vul was fine if not a tad sore. The right side of my face felt bruised for a few days afterwards from being hit in the head.
It was SOOOOO much fun though, and I hope that The Grove does a bash again soon! :D

Happy to see us

Well, this weekend the Fruit Bat and I journeyed homeward once more- I, to answer the call for aid from my employers, and Fruit Bat, hitching a ride to go pick up her newly-repaired pick up.
Read that sentence again if you missed the play on words.

Anyway, when at length we returned to our college domicile, there were two very hungry felines waiting for us.
Dear Solstice and Saul were beside themselves with joy that their food-providers were back, while Fruit Bat went into her dorm to get the food, I sat out with the cats- because if one of us doesn't, Solstice will follow Fruit Bat back to her dorm.

Solstice was quite a bit more affectionate than is usual- though she is the more affectionate of the two, and we've been "allowed" to pet her for about a week now. She was continually rubbing at me, shoving herself under my hand to be petted, and once crawled halfway into my lap to sniff at my chin- though she decided that this last was too close, and bolted to a "safe" distance before coming back.

Saul though, I was surprised with, generally he stays on the other side of the fence when we feed them, and has shown no interest in us other than bringers-of-food. But he was right out there with Solstice, approaching me hesitantly. Three times he sniffed at my hand, and I was permitted to pet him- though he's more easily startled than his sister.
Even Midnight, who has always hidden when we are around, is now not only sitting in plain view, but has been coming a little closer while we are near. We have to be sitting down though. None of the cats like it very much when we're standing.

This morning I met with a friendly cat who lives by the academic building- I've met him several times before, and he always comes up to be stroked and admired. I felt bad this morning though- I pet him a little bit, then had to go inside for class. He looked confused, and put his paws up on the glass doors. Poor guy- I'd have let him in, if it wasn't a school building and I wasn't sure that he would find absolute torture within the halls.
